Meet our team

Board Members

No one builds lasting change alone. Our board brings together people who believe in Haiti’s children and are willing to put their time, experience, and hearts behind that belief. Meet the people helping WIAH grow, make thoughtful decisions, and carry this work forward.

Dr. Claude Louis: Founder and Board Chair

Dr. Claude Louis is a board-certified family physician in the United States. Raised in Qui-Croit, Haiti, his own life was transformed by the opportunity to continue his education through sponsorship. He believes that lasting change begins with education, is strengthened through access to healthcare, and grows through community development that helps families build more secure, self-sustaining futures.

Dr. Perrette St Preux: Executive Director

Perrette St. Preux is a Haitian medical graduate, registered nurse, public health professional, and healthcare entrepreneur whose work spans clinical care, education, and community service. She believes building healthier communities requires empowering women, creating more opportunities for children and young people to learn and grow, and supporting elders to live with dignity.

Heather McCarty Maeding: Treasurer

Heather McCarty Maeding is a board-certified neonatal and family nurse practitioner whose connection to Haiti spans nearly three decades of neonatal care and medical outreach. As the adoptive mother of three Haitian children, she is deeply committed to family preservation, education, and access to healthcare. She brings to WIAH extensive clinical expertise and a longstanding belief in helping families build stronger futures together.

Abdias Cesaire: Education Program Director

Abdias Cesaire is an educator, entrepreneur, and technology professional whose work reflects his passion for innovation and community impact. He believes that education, service, and access to opportunity give people the tools to strengthen their lives and communities. He brings to WIAH a forward-thinking perspective and a commitment to using technology and innovation to create meaningful and lasting change.
